The general maintenance

when a musician plays an instrument, the strings use the fingerboard and the rosin is settled on the top. The left hand touches often the ribb when rising high positions and it takes of the varnish. The tuning wastes the pegs... And it is possible that an instrument is marked being slightly hit. The abrupt temperature changes possibly disglue the edges.

All this small things have an influence on the playability of the instrument but also in the general feeling the musician has. If the instrument look beatifull, is perfect under the hand, sure than the musicien will take more pleasure...
